MEET YOUR TEACHER-LIBRARIAN: Ms. McQuillan
Hello! As teacher-librarian at Woodward Hill Elementary, I am lucky to be able to work with and get to know all of the students in the school. Here is a chance for you to get to know a bit about me, too.
It kind of goes without saying, seeing as I'm a teacher-librarian, but I LOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE to read. Ever since I was young, one of my all-time favourite activities has been to curl up with a good book.
Students often ask me what my favourite book is, but I've read and enjoyed so many that it's really hard to say. I have many 'favourites,' and each is important for different reasons.
I have many other interests besides reading, and these include music, art, and writing. I have played the piano since I was 9 years old and the tenor saxophone since I was 13. I write songs, which I perform with my guitar. I also love learning about organic gardening, and taking my two dogs - Belle and Shaylo - (you can see a photo of them on the Welcome page) for long walks.
This is my second year at Woodward Hill and I am so happy for the opportunity to play such a central role in promoting literacy and a love of reading!
